Christian Science (Part 2)

Christian Science denies the reality of the sense. People do not sin, suffer, or die: they are victims of unhealthy delusions, particularly  “malicious animal magnetism,” a term for evil thought that appears real only because people erroneously give it credence. Part of the faith, is the conviction that rather than medicines, there is a way to defeat sickness (not to mention sin) though prayerful thinking, healing, and abiding by Mrs. Eddy’s commentaries on the scriptures.
Norma Jeane continued to study Christian Science throughout her marriage to James Dougherty. On her earliest modeling assignments, Marilyn sat quietly at mealtimes with her prayer book keeping her company.
